Captain Graham Rutherford, a native of Queensland, Australia, was introduced to marine life at a very early age, following in his father’s footsteps to operate daily tours of the lower islands of the Great Barrier Reef. At the beginning of his career, Rutherford spent 10 years servicing super-yachts in various capacities – starting as deckhand and working his way through every position, eventually rising to captain. Captain Rutherford settled in San Diego in 2007 where he was responsible for overseeing a variety of jobs from simple bottom paint jobs on 30’ vessels to major refits on 250’ super yachts as a Project Manager at one of San Diego’s preeminent shipyards. Graham founded Aussie yacht service in 2010 drawing on his experiences of both Super yachts and Ship Maintenance. His ability to build relationships through trust and service with our clients and vendors are what helps us continue to grow. He is also a yacht broker and understands the market and how to prepare a purchase and to sell your yacht. Graham has a passion for customer service and goes above and beyond to satisfy our client’s needs.

Meet Luke Ludemann, Operations Manager at Aussie Yacht Services. Originally from the coastal city of Perth, Western Australia, Luke's maritime journey began as a pearl diver. He later transitioned to a scuba diving instructor at a luxury island resort in Australia. Luke's diverse marine experience includes roles on ferries, as a cargo ship port agent, and a 15-year tenure on Superyachts, where he mastered all aspects of yacht maintenance. Progressing rapidly, he earned roles as a Chief Officer on ships over 3000gt and achieved his 200-tonne captain's license. Today, Luke excels in communicating and educating clients on operating their vessel and implementing our yacht maintenance programs.

It was during his divemaster certification in Honduras that fate intertwined him with the yacht crew, setting the course for his illustrious career in the yachting industry.
